Sun and Moon Brothers
Hunahpú e Ixbalanqué eran dos hermanos muy valientes que vivieron increíbles aventuras. Buscando justicia para su pueblo, decidieron viajar a Xibalbá, un lugar oscuro lleno de peligros. No estaban solos; contaron con la ayuda de un lagarto cuya fuerza obtenía al comer On (aguacate).
En su camino lucharon contra temibles gobernantes como Camazotz, de la casa de los murciélagos, y enfrentaron a Hun-Camé y Vucub-Camé en el Juego de Pelota.
Ya en el último nivel, llegaron a una gran pirámide donde vivía Ah Puch, el gran señor de Xibalbá (inframundo).
Gracias a su valentía y trabajo en equipo, lograron vencer a Ah Puch, rescatando a una poderosa estrella, la cual, como recompensa, les otorgó un regalo muy especial: los convirtió en el Sol y la Luna.
Así, iluminaron el cielo para ayudar a su pueblo tanto de día como de noche. Nuestro fan art está inspirado en Mario Bros y en fragmentos del texto sagrado Popol Vuh de la cultura maya k’iche’.
Hunahpú and Ixbalanqué were two very brave brothers who lived through incredible adventures. Seeking justice for their people, they decided to travel to Xibalba, a dark place full of dangers. They were not alone; they received the help of a lizard whose strength came from eating *On* (avocado).
On their journey, they fought fearsome rulers such as Camazotz, from the House of Bats, and faced Hun-Camé and Vucub-Camé in the Ball Game.
At the final level, they arrived at a great pyramid where Ah Puch, the great lord of Xibalba (the underworld), lived.
Thanks to their courage and teamwork, they managed to defeat Ah Puch, rescuing a powerful star that, as a reward, granted them a very special gift: it transformed them into the Sun and the Moon.
In this way, they illuminated the sky to help their people both by day and by night. Our fan art is inspired by Mario Bros. and by excerpts from the sacred text *Popol Vuh* of the K’iche’ Maya culture.
